After a really amazing 2009, I am now really keen to try to locate my Art Master from school, who was disappointed when I gave up the subject chosing to study modern languages.
Mr. Roberts was the Art Master at Maghull Grammar School during the 1970's. Should anyone have any bright ideas as to how I might locate him, I would be grateful to hear from you!
Thank you for visiting my site.
Peace and love.

After a spiritual retreat in the summer of 2006, Lizzy Forrester started to dedicate nearly all her time to her great passion, painting: The artist is now busy with commissions and preparing for various promotional Gallery Exhibitions scheduled for this year and the coming, 2010.
'......It is not unusual for Lizzy to feel or experience the creation of her Artwork as explosive: the paintings are full of life energy."

Artist Profiles - Volume 21 |
Arrival of Spring - Acrylic on Canvas 15'' x 21'' A relative newcomer to the art world, Lizzy Forrester has quickly generated a wealth of interest in her spiritually rich paintings, drawings and pastels. Although the artist emphasizes the importance of a continuously developing style, it is clear that Forrester is an immense talent with an exceptional eye for the fleeting beauty of the natural world. With a careful stroke of the brush, Forrester captures the nuances of light as they dance upon brilliantly hued flowers, verdant green trees and lush pastures. Equally adept at rendering architecture, Forrester easily translates the gentle play of light and shadow from plein air to paper. With soft textures, aesthetic beauty, and stimulating colors, Forrester’s works offer a therapeutic experience to viewers. As the eye travels across the artistic surface, the mind is transported from the realities of everyday life to a quiet space, far away, where the spirit is healed and nurtured. Reflecting upon the peaceful scenes set forth in each piece, the viewer engages in a form of meditation, quieting the mind to become absorbed completely in the work. Born and raised in England, Lizzy Forrester has lived all of her adult life in Spain. A devout Buddhist, her deep faith provides infinite inspiration for her breathtaking works of art. www.lizzyforrestergallery.com www.Art-Mine.com/ArtistPage/Lizzy_Forrester.aspx |
Lizzy Forrester was born in Liverpool, England, but lives and works on the island of Ibiza in Spain, conducts an orchestra of resounding colors with each stroke of her brush. Her luminous and highly textured canvases reflect a deep admiration for the Impressionist painters, placing a strong emphasis on the interplay of light on surfaces. But, Forrester’s impetus for painting lies much deeper than a simple desire to render the rays of light as they cascade upon a placid pond or field of poppies. In fact, like a stream of consciousness poem or impromptu musical composition, Forrester’s works serve as expressions of the artist’s innermost thoughts and emotions. Her stunning landscape paintings resonate with a sense of calm and happiness, evidencing the artist’s strongly influential spirituality. Her artwork serves primarily as a communicative tool, created by impulse and an inexplicable urge to paint, but also expresses the self-taught artist’s innate understanding of color theory and sophisticated eye for spatial arrangements. I really don't like to talk about "my art" or my work - would rather it speak for itself.
So, above are a couple of "press releases" (from a USA Art Magazine, ArtIsSpectrum - Manhattan based) written by professional art galleries, or persons whose opinion is respected in the art world. All that is / has been written I find very humbling.
However, one has to believe in oneself, too, at the end of the day.
In answer those who have shown interest and would like to know.... It is quite simple really.
When I paint I am spiritually engaged, I am in an "altered state" - I do not think. If I start to think, I stop painting. To find that harmony, that state, I can use Classical Music as a tool, but it is not necessary. There is nothing quite so 'quieting' as hearing the silence of nature as it grows
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and visit my work.
Peace and love always.
